ASPIRE Full-time

ASPIRE: IELTS 8 courses at Monash University English Language Centre are designed for those who require IELTS 7 or 8 for professional or immigration purposes.

The 20-week full-time course is offered in 5-week modules, so you can study for 5, 10, 15 or 20 weeks. It is conducted in the evenings (4.15-8.30pm) so you can manage it with your work. Classes take place at our City Campus.

Through this course you will:

  • Develop your English language skills
  • Understand the format of the IELTS test
  • Develop the strategies you need to succeed in the test – even native speakers benefit from studying test strategies!

Test practice and feedback will be also provided.

If studying full-time in the evenings is not an option for you, we have a number of IELTS Target 8 Short-courses available as well.

Course duration

The number of weeks required will depend on your current level of English and your desired result.

Subsidised IELTS test

ASPIRE: IELTS 8 students are entitled to a subsidised IELTS test if taken at Monash IELTS Test Centre. It will cost $155 (normally $330).

* Applicable to full-time students only. One test per student. Test must be booked at Monash IELTS Test Centre before completion of the program.

This course is designed for students who currently have an overall IELTS score of 6.5.

Apply for ASPIRE: IELTS 8

Applications for ASPIRE are accepted in 5-week blocks. Students are required to enrol in their preferred ASPIRE course by selecting which week they wish to commence. After completion of the initial 5-week module, you will have the opportunity to enrol in the following modules.

Step 3: Collect copy of the application form and the receipt. A confirmation letter will be sent to your email usually within 24 hours.
Step 4: Check your e-mail for confirmation letter. Please print this confirmation – you will need it when applying for your IELTS test subsidy.
