English Language Bridging Program (ELBP) for Foundation Year

The English Language Bridging Program (ELBP) for Foundation Year is for students who have narrowly missed the English language requirements for direct entry into the Monash University Foundation Year program.

Classes will prepare you for successful study during the Foundation Year through improving your skills in academic reading, writing, speaking, listening, note taking and research.

After successful completion of this course, you will meet the English Language requirements for the Foundation Year program.

Course duration

ELBP for Foundation Year is a 15 week program.

Study load

The weekly study load is 35 hours with:

  • 20 hours tuition in class hours
  • 15 hours independent study outside class hours (including five hours in the Independent Learning Centre).

Location

To enter the ELBP for Foundation Year you must have received a conditional offer for the standard program and meet the following minimum requirements:

  • IELTS: 5.0, writing 5.0
  • TOEFL paper-based: 500, TWE 4.0
  • TOEFL iBT: Overall 61, writing 17.

Please note that ELBP for Foundation Year is currently only available for students studying the standard program.

After you successfully complete ELBP for Foundation Year, you will have:
