IELTS test results are available 13 days after the listening, reading and writing tests have been completed. Your official Test Report Form (TRF) is a valuable document, so keep it safe. Lost TRF documents will not be replaced.
You can search for your provisional IELTS results by selecting the button below. Your IELTS result is usually available online 13 days after your test date and will remain available for 28 days thereafter. Your official Test Result Form will be sent to you by mail.
Results will be posted to the address you gave on your application form. Please note that regular ( not express or tracked) post may take up to five working days for delivery. You may wish to submit an Express Post envelope or elect to pick up your results in person if receiving your original Test Report Form is urgent.
Results will not be given over the telephone, by fax or by email.
You may collect your test results from 10am to 1pm at the IELTS applications desk, Building 73, on the thirteenth day after your test You must bring your passport. Results not collected will be posted in the afternoon of the thirteenth day.
Your TRF shows results for overall ability as well as performance in listening, reading, writing and speaking. There is no pass or fail for IELTS. The results are reported as band scores on a scale from 1 (non-user) to 9 (expert user). More on this 9-band system is available from the IELTS website.
Generally, the entry requirement for universities is an overall IELTS band score of 6.0 or 6.5 in the academic module. However, different institutions have different requirements. Make sure you check directly with the institution where you are applying.
You will only receive one copy of your results. The TRF has in-built security measures so it cannot be photocopied or replicated. However you can have copies of your TRF automatically sent to up to five institutions free of charge. Make the request when you submit your application form.
You can also organise extra copies of your TRF up to two years after you take your test. You need to apply to the centre where you took your test, and there will be a small administration charge per copy (A$10).
