Three reasons to study English with Monash

"I participated in a program of Monash University for one month to learn English. There are three reasons that I chose this program. Firstly, Australia is a safe country. This was the first time to go abroad for me. Therefore, I made much of the security level. In fact, there was no danger during the stay in Australia.

Secondly, I was attracted to the circumstances. Quietness and greenery in Australia are good for studying. I relaxed and concentrated on my work easily. Finally, there are many people who have various backgrounds. You can learn about a variety of cultures only by going to Australia. I made Chinese, Korean, Indian and French friends.

In class, I learned English through topics such as Australian culture, environmental problems, and so on. The most of the class was discussion among students. I could share interesting ideas, so I was so inspired. Sometimes, we went out of the classroom to learn Australian culture directly. For example, we walked around the Monash Campus with a guide, and he explained local plants. Like this, this program gave us various opportunities to study.

One month is too short to learn English. However, I got many things thorough this program; of course, teachers gave us advice on how to improve English skills after returning to Japan. Moreover, I overcame the feeling that I did not want to talk to native speakers in English and made many friends who have various cultures. I would like to say 'Thank you' to those who were related to this interesting program. "
