We encourage you to use the support services available and to contact the friendly staff at Monash College for advice and assistance as soon as you are finding things a little difficult.

Learning support

All Monash College programs are designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge you need to transition into living and studying in Australia. If at any time you are feeling lost, remember, we are here to help you.

Each of our programs has an in-built academic support system matched to your academic level that will help your transition into tertiary study. We will let you know more about your options for academic support during orientation.

Student care

To ensure you achieve your best, all Monash College programs are centred on the complete student experience. Each of our programs has an in-built student care system matched to your developmental level that will help you with everyday situations and general wellbeing.

Our teachers are also very understanding. They know that being an international student is a unique experience. They are at hand to help you get to know Australian culture and transition into tertiary study.

Health and medical

If you are studying at our Clayton and Caulfield campuses, you have direct access to the campus medical facilities simply by presenting your Monash College ID card. You can arrange for your bill to go directly to your overseas health cover provider using your current overseas health cover card.

If you are studying at our Melbourne City campus, there is a large general medical centre, MedicalOne, just 5 minutes walk from the campus.

Counselling

At Monash College, we understand that the transition to living in a new country can be difficult for some students. If anything is preventing you from enjoying your academic, social or personal life, then it's important for you to be able to talk to someone about it.

Monash College students have on-campus access to a free and confidential counselling service for academic or personal issues:

  • Clayton campus: Health and Wellbeing, first floor, Campus Centre Telephone: (+61 3) 9905 3156
  • Caulfield campus: Health and Wellbeing, Building B, Level 1Telephone: (+61 3) 9903 2500
  • Melbourne City campus: See reception desk

Student activities

We understand that for students, the main reason they are here is to study, but participating in extra-curricular activities and getting out and about is important too. Monash College encourages you to interact and enjoy your experience by taking some time out for yourself.

Whether you're participating in one of the activities organised by Monash College, playing in a sports team, taking up a new hobby or just making time to spend with friends; it is important to make the most of your time here and everything Australia has to offer.

Places of worship

Monash College students come from a variety of backgrounds and beliefs. Our Clayton and Caulfield campuses have multi-faith religious centres open to all religious affiliations and denominations:

  • Clayton campus - Religious Centre is located in Building 9 next to the Campus Centre.
  • Caulfield campus - Religious Centre is located in room 9, Level 3, T Block

Our Melbourne City campus is located in the heart of the city, within very close walking distance to a number of places of worship.

Safety and security

Melbourne is a very safe place to live and study. Each Monash College campus has been designed to be a safe and secure home base, protected by a campus security team.

Our comprehensive orientation program takes place before you start classes. It has lots of information about living in Melbourne, including tips on personal safety.
