Monash College students chosen for Vice Chancellor's leadership program

Minji Kim, Iliyas Yusoff Muhammed, Hong Tran, Eugene Lam and Amena Ziad - Monash College students chosen for the Ancora Imparo programFive students from Monash College have been selected for the prestigious Vice-Chancellor’s Ancora Imparo program for 2012. They are part of a group of 41 participants, who were selected from a field of 200 to take part in the leadership program. Ancora Imparo will help students prepare for future leadership roles by giving them the skills to serve and bring about constructive change in society.

Around 40 first year students are chosen each year from across all faculties and Monash College.

College Director, Faye Lambert has commented on the students' achievements by saying "We are absolutely delighted to see our Monash College students  so strongly represented in this group of potential leaders. They are to be congratulated on their ability to adapt to a new academic and cultural environment and for their initiative in applying for such a prestigious program."

Students involved in the program are provided the opportunity to work with other like-minded students. They learn about vision and inspirational principles that guide leaders and participate in a three-day residential program before their second year starts. Throughout the year they also attend monthly seminars, which include talks from prominent alumni and other leaders.
