Monash College's Jirayut Prompen wins Study Melbourne International Student Award.

We are pleased to congratulate Jirayut Prompen, who won Study Melbourne's International Student Award - English Language Training on 1 December.

Jirayut received the award for his contribution to the community through volunteering, as well as his part in Monash College's student leadership program.

Currently sponsored by the Thai Government in his studies, Jirayut arrived in Australia 11 months ago. Since that time, he progressed his education through our College's Monash University English Language Centre, before advancing on to his Foundation Year, also through Monash College.

'When I was selected to study overseas, I could choose anywhere in the world,' said Jirayut. 'I chose Melbourne, the place I always dreamed of.'

Jirayut will receive a scholarship of $10,000 from Study Melbourne to contribute to his studies in Victoria. He will also become an ambassador for the Victorian Government's Study Melbourne initiative.

After Monash College, he plans to continue his studies in Medicine at Monash University, which this year also received the award for Excellence in International Education.

Monash University English Language Centre provides international-quality,
professional-standard English support services that prepare international students
for success in their studies and their future careers.

Monash University Foundation Year is a generalist academic pre-university program for international
students who aspire to study at Monash University.
