Dr Karina Davis has a wealth of experience in the education sector drawn from over 25 years experience, originally as a teacher, then as a lecturer and researcher, before transitioning into educational management and executive management positions. Karina believes deeply in the power of education to open opportunities and change a person's life trajectory.
Karina started her academic career at the University of Melbourne and for a number of years was a Lecturer and Research Fellow within the Faculty of Education. Across this time, Karina was an active researcher involved in research projects funded by philanthropic and government bodies, and published in her work in numerous academic journals and edited books. From 2014 - 2019, Karina worked in various roles at Melbourne Polytechnic including as Director, College of Education, Training and Leadership and then as Executive Director, Programs and Educational Leadership. In this role, she had oversight of the delivery of all VET and HE programs at the Polytechnic. Karina is also an accomplished writer and speaker, and completed her Ph.D. in the Faculty of Education at The University of Melbourne.
Karina joined the College in 2020 to lead the Learning Innovation team. From August 2020, she has also taken on the leadership of the Bachelor of International Business. Karina brings to Monash College experience and expertise in strategy and its intersection with educational product and delivery and a curiosity and enthusiasm for education and strategy generally, and course and curriculum innovation specifically.
