Your Monash College life begins now!
Welcome. We want you to enjoy everything about Monash College and imagine that you have lots of questions. This website will help you prepare for your new life in Melbourne and first few weeks of class, making your Monash College experience even more enjoyable. The information provided will give you a good idea of what to expect and how to make the most of the support available. Once you’ve started class, you’ll find all of your study material on Moodle - our online learning platform. Our teachers are also very friendly and they'll be able to help answer your questions or let you know who can help you.
Student counsellors are available at each Monash College campus.
They offer free, confidential counselling to help you with personal, academic or emotional problems. They can even help you when you don’t know what the problem is!
If you have any of the below issues - or a problem that you can’t describe yet - meeting with a student counsellor can help.
- Personal issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, homesickness, sleep or eating issues, self-harm, drug or alcohol problems.
- Academic concerns that are causing you stress and anxiety.
- Relationships difficulties or conflicts with family, friends or peers.
- Adjusting to change, culture shock or settling into new country.
- Low self confidence.
What is counselling? In counselling sessions, you talk with a person who is trained to listen to your problems and to help you choose strategies to solve the problems or cope better with difficult things in your life. It’s a private conversation so your counsellor will not talk about your problems to others.
To make an appointment to speak with a counsellor, please log on to: https://counselling.monashcollege.edu.au and follow the instructions to make an appointment. Visit this link for resources to help you look after your well-being and physical/mental health.
