If you live off-campus, we want to know you are in a safe and secure environment. That's why we have Monash-approved accommodation providers that are suitable if you're under 18. If you're over 18, you can also choose to rent your own place or share a house with friends.

Our approved accommodation providers offer secure, apartment-style living with lots of student facilities. All rooms are fully furnished and staff are available 24 hours a day to make sure you feel safe.

Providers: Urbanest Melbourne Central, Arrow on Swanston, Albert House.

Who: Foundation year, art and design students, Monash English, or Monash English Bridging for Diplomas students.

Providers are booked 12 months in advance. As soon as you've accepted your offer, start thinking about where you want to live.

Urbanest Melbourne Central

Single room at Urbanest, off-campus accommodation

Urbanest offers modern, four-bedroom apartments. You can have your own bedroom, or you can share with one other student. It is specially designed for students and you’ll be part of a friendly community.

Location: Urbanest is located on Latrobe Street in the city centre.

Travel: 10 minute walk to the city campus, or five minute walk to the train station for the Caulfield campus.

Facilities:

  • your own furnished bedroom or share with one other student
  • shared or ensuite bathroom
  • all utilities such as wireless internet, electricity and water
  • 24/7 support team
  • rooftop terrace
  • gym
  • laundry
  • bike storage
  • cinema room and large social area

Arrow on Swanston

Arrow on Swanston’s serviced apartments are convenient, comfortable and good value for money. You can choose from a studio apartment, one bedroom or two bedroom.

Location: Arrow on Swanston is located on Swanston Street in the city centre.

Travel: 15 minute walk to the city campus or a 10 minute walk to the train station for the Caulfield campus.

Facilities:

Albert House

Albert House is a safe and supportive accommodation choice with a social atmosphere. You can choose from a one bedroom or two bedroom.

Location: Albert House is located on Drummond Street, just outside the Melbourne city centre.

Travel: 15 minute walk to the city campus, or 10 minute walk to the train station for the Caulfield campus.

Facilities:

  • free WiFi
  • electrical appliances
  • entertainment lounge

Cost: $375–530 per week.

Renting or house sharing

If you are over 18, you can rent or share a house with other students. This is a good option if you are comfortable living on your own or have stayed in Melbourne for a while. There are many houses or apartments close to all our Monash College campuses. Just remember to visit the property before you sign the lease or pay any money.

Facilities: Properties in Melbourne may be unfurnished, partially furnished or fully furnished. Phone, internet and electricity costs are generally not included so you will have to budget for this.

Cost: $250–450 per week (minimum stay of 12 months and depends on location, size and utilities).
