Congratulations and welcome to Monash College. Now that you have accepted your offer, it's time to enrol. Before enrolling, make sure you have met all the conditions of your offer.
Step 1: Create your Monash account
Already have your Monash account? Go straight to step 2.
To set up your Monash account you need your Monash ID. This is in your International Student Course Agreement (ISCA).
Create your account
If you can't see the above video you can view on Youku.
For detailed instructions click here.
Step 1b: Get your Unique Student Identifier (USI)
What is a Unique Student Identifier (USI)?
A USI is your individual education number for life. It also gives you an online record of your VET training undertaken in Australia.
If you're at university, TAFE or doing other nationally recognised training, you need a USI. Without one, your qualification or statement of attainment.
Need to create a USI?
If you don’t already have a USI, you can create one anytime. Get in early so you have it before the time comes to enrol!
It should take less than 5 minutes online!
If you’re an international student you won’t be able to get a USI until you arrive in Australia. You need to land and go through Australian customs before you can create a USI, using your non-Australian passport and visa as a form of ID. Just make sure you create and update your USI to WES as soon as possible after arriving.
Create a USI
Already have a USI? If so, have it ready when it’s time to enrol.
If you have undertaken any VET training since 2015, you may already have a USI. Find it now.
Forgotten your USI? Refer to the Australian Government information at Find your USI
Tips!
- You will only need one USI and it’s yours for life!
- Enter all of your name(s) exactly as they appear on the form of ID you are using to create both your USI and your TFN (tax file number).
- You’ll need to create a password - it must be at least 9 characters long, contain a lowercase letter, an uppercase letter and a number or special character
Identification requirements
You need one form of identification to create a USI.
Acceptable forms of ID:
More information about the USI, you can visit https://www.usi.gov.au/students.
For assistance/help, you can contact https://www.usi.gov.au/help or https://www.usi.gov.au/contact-us
Once you have applied for your USI, please continue to Step 2. Plan your course.
Help with this step
Having trouble with your Monash account?
Activating your account
See our step-by-step guide to activating your Monash account from activation to setting up multi-factor authentication (MFA) and other handy self-service options. We strongly recommend you take up the self-service option for back-up codes and password reset - this can save you a lot of time if you forget your password or lose your phone.
Android users setting up MFA from China may encounter problems. Please see the help page at register for MFA from China.
Multi-factor authentication backup codes
If you get locked out of your account because your phone is lost, damaged, or replaced, or if you’ve accidentally deleted the Okta Verify app, you can now use a backup code to reset your MFA and get back into your account.
Password problems?
For any password problems, visit Identity Management Services. You'll also find how to register to change your own password.
Need more help?
If you're still experiencing issues creating an account and/or accessing your email, contact the Service Desk for help.
Using your Monash account and email
Use your account to access your email, class timetable, student portal, course materials, the library and the Web Enrolment System (WES).
We delete your account if you don't complete your enrolment, so make sure you enrol by the deadline.
Email
To access your Monash mail account log into your Student Portal.
Your Monash account is the only email the University will use to communicate with you. You should check it at least twice a week so you don't miss important messages about your enrolment or studies.
