Order your Monash ID card
Once you’ve set up your Monash account, completed your enrolment, attended your Orientation, and started your course, you need to get a Monash student identity card (M-Pass).
Your M-Pass allows you to:
- access the Monash College campus Monday to Friday from 7.30AM to 6.00PM
- use the library
- pay for your printing and photocopying
Please ensure that you have updated your Melbourne postal and home addresses prior to this submission. If you have not yet done so, go to the Web Enrolment System, in the Student Services section, go to Address update option to update them.
Before you start
Before you can set up your M-Pass, you’ll need to take two photos:
1. a photo ID (passport photo page, Australian driver licence or Australian proof of age card) to verify your identity using VerifyMe
2. a selfie, which will be your M-Pass photo
You can’t upload or take a photo of a pre-prepared image, so make sure you’re ready to take a photo for your M-Pass before you start the process. You won’t be able to change your M-Pass photo once it’s been taken through VerifyMe.
If you are locked out of VerifyMe after three unsuccessful tries, you will need to visit Monash Connect in person at the Parkville, Caulfield or Clayton campus to set up your M-Pass.

Reasons your photo may be rejected
- You haven't provided photo ID such as a passport or driver's licence to verify your identity (first step)
- Your ID document (e.g. passport or licence) was cropped or wasn't scanned properly
- The photo submitted for your student card is too dark
- Previously, you had a Monash University or College ID card
- You selected postage to receive your card but you didn't supply a valid Australian address
Confirm your ID and take your photo
- Log into the Web Enrolment System (WES).
- Click Submit a photo for your ID card.
- Follow the prompts:
- Verify your identity by uploading your photo ID (passport photo page, Australian driver licence or Australian proof of age card)
- Take a selfie for your M-Pass (see photo guidelines)
Set up your digital M-Pass
VerifyMe will automatically check your selfie against your ID and send you an email once your photo has been approved (this can take up to an hour). Then you're ready to set up your digital M-Pass.
