An updated version of Moodle will be available for Monash College students progressively from August 2026.

What is Moodle?

Moodle is the online portal that you will use at Monash College to access online learning materials for all of your units. It is where you will find your weekly materials and information, links to your online classes, and also be able to read and post in your class forums, and submit your assignments.

When will I learn about Moodle?

You will begin to learn about Moodle as part of your welcome journey at Monash College. Please check your emails or visit the Get Ready website for more information.

Access Moodle

The new version of Moodle is available for commencing and returning Foundation Year students at Docklands from Semester 2, 2026. All other students will be required to access the current version of Moodle.

Which Moodle do I access if I am not studying Foundation Year?

You can access Moodle by using the direct link below, or by using the navigation in your Student Portal. In your portal, select Learning and Teaching and then select the Moodle tile.

FAQs for College students

You can use Moodle on your smartphone or mobile device using a web browser. The Moodle app on the Apple and Google Play stores is not compatible with Moodle at Monash.
However, please note that it is better to use a desktop or laptop computer because content on Moodle does not always display well on small screens. If it’s all you have access to on the day, mobile devices and tablets can be helpful for checking Moodle forums and other information, but please make sure you regularly log in to your units on Moodle using a laptop or desktop so that you can make sure you haven't missed anything.
Moodle is where you will access your coursework content and assessment tasks, so you will need to log in frequently so that you can access content and complete tasks.
Some people log in multiple times a day when they are studying, but it can vary depending on how your units are structured and the tasks that you need to complete, or the content that you need to access.
You can use the following links to access your Moodle account:
- Monash University Moodle (Foundation Year Semester 2D, 2026)
- MC Moodle (for Diplomas and English programs)
- the Moodle tile in my.monash.
- Units will not show up in Moodle until orientation week of the teaching period you are enrolled in.
- If you don't see your units by orientation week, please speak with your Teacher.
- If you have recently changed your enrollment details or enrolled in different units, please allow up to one working day from the confirmation of your enrollment change for the updated content in Moodle to become available.
- If you are experiencing technical issues accessing the Moodle platform, you can submit a request through the MyIT catalogue, or contact the eSolutions ServiceDesk.

The Moodle dashboard is the place to access all your units and see an overview of your upcoming events and assessments. You can return to the Moodle dashboard from any page in Moodle, by clicking dashboard in the top-left corner of the screen. Learn more about how to navigate the dashboard via this link.
Submitting assignments in Moodle
Submitting an assignment in Moodle may involve uploading single or multiple files, copying and pasting from a document, typing directly into Moodle, or simply reading the instructions in Moodle but completing the assignment outside it.
When preparing your assignment for submission always make sure that you:
- carefully read and follow all assignment instructions and requirements
- upload your submission well in advance of the deadline in case of any technical difficulties.
To check if your assignment was successfully submitted in Moodle, navigate back to the assignment dropbox.
- If successful, you’ll see a note that reads Submitted for grading, and you won't be able to update your submission.
- If unsuccessful, you’ll see the message Error "Nothing was submitted" and an option, which allows you to upload files.
- If you’ve already uploaded your file but have not submitted it yet, the assignment dropbox will have three buttons - Edit submission, Remove submission and Submit assignment.

Forums on Moodle are where you can view important announcements, post questions and discuss topics. In many instances you can post replies to existing discussions in a forum, or you can start your own discussion. Learn more about Forums here.
The timeline is a list of your upcoming tasks that you need to complete for all of your units.
There are some drop-down boxes at the top of the timeline you can use to filter it by time or choose options for how the list is sorted.
You can also click on the tasks in the timeline to go directly to that task.
Note: The assessment summary table may display a different submission status for group assignments and tasks that have a due date but not a submission, for example a live presentation. Please refer to the assessment summary table for the most accurate information about your submission.
