Entry requirements

To apply for the Foundation Year, you will need to satisfy academic entry requirements, English language requirements, as well as age and citizenship requirements.

Provisional enrolment

If you have not received your final grades in your home country, we may give you provisional enrolment for foundation year. However, you must meet the entry requirements before you start classes.

Conditional offers

If you do not meet the entry requirements for Monash University, you may receive a conditional offer to complete foundation year. If you meet the academic entry requirements for foundation year but do not meet the age or English language requirements, you may receive a conditional offer.

Age

Minimum age is 16 years. If you do not meet the age requirements, you may be offered a deferred place.

Citizenship requirements

Australian and New Zealand Citizens - If you hold Australian or New Zealand Citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency you are not eligible to apply.

If you hold temporary resident status in Australia or permanent resident status in New Zealand you are eligible to apply for the program.

If you are granted Australian Permanent Residency after you enrol in your Foundation Year program, you may complete the program, however entry into Monash University is not guaranteed.   After successfully completing your Monash College program and if you wish to apply for an undergraduate place at Monash University, you will need to apply through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) to compete for a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) at Monash University.
