How the program works
The Diploma of Art and Design is delivered in two parts:
In Part 1, you’ll focus on building fundamental creative and technical skills while beginning to develop your personal folio, a collection of your own creative work. This folio will form the foundation of your application into a specialised stream in Part 2 and your future studies.
In Part 2, you’ll choose to specialise in one of the following streams:
- Design: Prepares you for Monash University's second-year entry into Communication Design, Industrial Design, Spatial Design, or Collaborative Design.
- Architectural Design: Prepares you for second-year entry into the Bachelor of Architectural Design at Monash University.
During Part 2, you’ll study the same curriculum and complete equivalent assessments as first-year undergraduate students at Monash University. You must complete both trimesters of Part 2 to be eligible to receive the Diploma qualification.
