Science stream^: For entry into Part 2 (for the Science stream), you must have:

  • VCE: Units 3 & 4: a study score of 25 in one of Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Geography, Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics, Physics or Psychology, or equivalent.

Science Education stream^: For entry into Part 2 (for the Science Education stream), you must have:

  • VCE: Units 3 & 4: a study score of 25 in one of Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics, or equivalent.

Or

  • Pass (50%*) average in Mathematics (Australian Year 11), or equivalent, and
  • VCE: Units 3 & 4: a study score of 25 in one of Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Geography, Physics or Psychology, or equivalent.

*100% grading scale (50% is a pass)

^You must enrol in MCD4500 Engineering Mathematics during your Diploma studies and achieve VCE: Units 3 & 4: a study score of 25 in one of Mathematical Methods or Specialist Mathematics, or equivalent, if you wish to study the following maths major during the Bachelor of Science:  Applied mathematics, financial and insurance mathematics, mathematics, mathematical statistics, and pure mathematics.

Prerequisite subjects completed in other qualifications may be accepted and are assessed on a case by case basis when you apply.
