Student support
To be a good student you need to feel supported in all areas of your life. When you study at Monash College, you’ll have a team of people and a range of services available to support you. Our support network focuses on three key areas: academic and learning, life at Monash, and health, safety and wellbeing.
You can talk to us about anything – accommodation, exams, your career, making friends, how to use public transport and ways to feel safe on and off campus. We’re here to help you settle into living in Melbourne and studying at Monash.
Are you under 18?
You’re not alone. Many of our students are under 18 and we organise regular events such as trips to the zoo to help you make friends. We also have a guardianship service – a friendly face you can go to when you have a problem. Your guardian can help you with organising medical appointments, setting up a bank account and approving your excursions.
Airport Transfer
When you arrive in Melbourne, our free airport transfer service will take you to your accommodation.
Where should I live?
There are a number of accommodation options – homestay with an Australian family, on-campus, or Monash-approved student accommodation. Not sure what to choose? Talk to us, we’ll help you work it out.
Orientation
During your orientation, you’ll take a tour of Monash College, meet your teachers and start making friends! We’ll also show you some of the fun activities you can do in Melbourne!
Safety and Security
We’re committed to ensuring your safety is our highest priority, and have a range of services in place to provide support and guidance during your studies.
Academic support
Teachers are your main point of contact but you can get extra study support from Learning Skills Advisers, study workshops and resources.
Student Engagement and Welfare
At Monash College, we have a team of Student Engagement and welfare staff who are here to help you with any questions, big or small.
Careers advice
When you start your course, you may have questions about what degree to study, what career it leads to, or changing your course. We are here to help. Talk to us about your studies, or about volunteering or finding part-time work.
Counselling
Feeling homesick? Not sleeping? Stressed? We have a team of professional counsellors who you can talk to about your academic or personal problems.
