Innovation takes centre stage at the BLAST Business Expo
Monash College offers students with transformative and immersive experiences throughout their education journey. As part of this promise, the College hosted its BLAST Business Expo on Thursday 27 November 2025, where Foundation Year Extended students showcased creativity, teamwork and an entrepreneurial spirit by transforming bold ideas into marketable products.

Held at the College’s 750 Collins Street campus, the event formed part of the BLAST student experience framework – Belong, Learn, Achieve and Succeed Together – which encourages students to connect their classroom learning with real-world application.
Students pitched their innovative product ideas to staff and peers in a Shark Tank-style showcase, with attendees exploring booths and “investing” BLAST Dollars in their favourite projects. The votes contributed to the People’s Choice Awards, recognising the teams whose ideas captured the imagination and support of the College community.

“The BLAST Business Expo is a wonderful example of how Monash College brings learning to life,” said Matt Carter, Executive Director, Education. “It’s about empowering students to apply what they’ve learned, think entrepreneurially, and develop the mindset and skills they’ll need for success at Monash University and beyond.”
The Expo also celebrated the collaborative spirit that defines the Monash College community – with students, teachers and staff coming together to recognise the achievements of emerging business minds.
Through initiatives like BLAST, Monash College continues to deliver a world-class learning experience – one that inspires students to take ownership of their learning, build global capabilities, and prepare for a bright future as innovators and leaders.
Congratulations to all participating teams, and thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate student creativity in action.
