Homestay is an approved accommodation option for Monash Under 18 students when delivered via Australian Homestay Network only.

Homestay Accommodation gives students the opportunity to experience life in an Australian home and live with a local family.

Timelines & Considerations for Homestay Applications

  • Applications should be submitted at least 7- 8 weeks prior to commencement date.
  • Host locations are within 60 minutes travel time to the campus of study via Melbourne’s public transport system
  • Travel via public transport may include up to two modes of transport and some walking time.
  • All students will be placed with the closest available host according to the preferences selected.
  • Where complex preferences are selected your application may be declined in instances where an available host cannot be located.

Privacy and confidentiality
When you register with Australian Homestay Network (AHN), they will collect personal information you provide in accordance with their privacy policy. 
Monash staff may access this information, including the personal details in your Homestay application, for the purposes set out in the relevant privacy collection statement/s.
AHN provides personal information to Monash in accordance with AHN’s privacy policy.
